What are EHR Integrations?

EHR integrations are connections between our system and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems used by healthcare providers. These integrations allow us to securely access and retrieve patient data, which is crucial for our clinical trial matching service.

Why are EHR integrations important?

  • Data access: They provide us with the necessary patient information to perform accurate clinical trial matching.
  • Scalability: Integrations with major EHR providers allow us to expand our client base and serve more healthcare organizations.

How do our EHR integrations work?

We use several methods to integrate with EHR systems:

  • Bulk FHIR: This is our primary method for retrieving USCDI (United States Core Data for Interoperability) data. FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) is a standard for exchanging healthcare information electronically.
  • Proprietary APIs: When we need to access additional data beyond the USCDI, we use proprietary APIs provided by the EHR vendors.
  • Direct SQL server access: In rare cases, we may need to pull data directly from the EHR's SQL server.
